Torino Untold is not a Loneley Planets guide of Turin, the first capital of Italy. Here you won’t find any Bicerin, Mole, Turet, Aperitivo, Vermouth, Savoia, Ronaldo, Juventus, Gianduiotto, Clubtoclub, etc. Just the daily problems of a growing city.

The city is presented through a particular frame: the crime news. Seven topics for seven days, and 366 news articles and related pictures.

1. Car Crashes: 48 accidents happened in the city between August and July
2. Closed Places: 48 bars and factories shut down
3. Crimes: 48 current events of the summer 2018
4. Drug Dealing: 48 arrests and reports of traffickers and pushers
5. Homeless: 48 spots and housing programs for homeless people
6. Mini Markets: 48 “Bangla” shops not marked on Google
7. Prostitution: 48 articles about trans, minors, and women that sell their body

The sources consulted for the projects come from online news articles(53%), mostly collected between May and August 2018, and personal experience (47%). The images featured have been taken from Street View, Google Earth, and some shot by myself.

The data collected have then been geolocated on the map of Turin to visualize the density of events per district.
